Hi Ginger, so excited to have you with us today.

What can you tell us about your story?

How I started FanLoveBeauty- It was March 1st, 2019, I was with my celebrity crush/personal mentor Daymond John of Shark Tank at an event. I saw him took out a lip balm and used in front of me. A thought came to mind- if it is something that closes to him, in his pocket, on his lips, it has to be mine as I am an award-winning cosmetic chemist. 

Yes, lip balms are dime a dozen out there but there are not many good ones. Lip balms are so critical because it is the only beauty product that could be ingested and everyone regardless of gender or sex, does use a lip balm. 

I set out to develop the world’s healthiest vegan lip balm fueled with superfoods like flaxseed, avocado, coconut and powered by clinical levels of sea asparagus known to boost hydration by up to 6000%. This helps to hydrate lips instantly as well as overtime and is perfect for speakers or people who talk a lot and tend to have dry lips. A portion of proceeds also benefit the suicide prevention foundation thus I call it the “life-saving ” lip balm. 

Because the brand is out of “fan love” thus I called it FanLoveBeauty as I believe fan love is the most passionate and we only want to give our idols the very best. This then evolves to doing a brand that gives back to people who inspire, educate or entertain society and I can co-create beauty products with you for your idol if they fit the Inspire/educate/entertain criteria. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?

When I first launched FanLoveBeauty on February 20, 2020, I had high hope of doing an inspirational beauty brand that is like a reverse-celebrity beauty brand and expect it to do well as we all know that celebrities have other means to get beautiful. My brand is meant to give back to the celebrities in our life. They do not need to be in Hollywood as long as they inspire, educate or entertain society. I launched the brand in Las Vegas and had many friends’ support than it went into Covid in March. Needless to say, it was a strong blow to a start-up brand. I started to knock on all retailer’s doors knowing the chance is slim but I did land in Beauty Collection Stores in all of their three California stores. I also tried to cold-call dentist offices as I figure if people care for the inside of their mouth (TEETH), they should pay attention to the outside of their mouth (LIPS). That did not go anywhere. So, I just keep evolving including changing up the website three times to optimize the traffic and coming out with a new product (The entrepreneur’s Eye Fix) to keep the momentum going. It surely is not a smooth road but it is something that I am passionate about and if I never quit, I never fail. 

We’ve been impressed with FanLoveBeauty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

FanLoveBeauty invites you to co-create vegan beauty products as a give-back to the ones who have contributed to society. If you are fanatic about a certain writer, perhaps it is a hand cream. If you are fanatic about a certain ballet group, perhaps it is a foot cream. Perhaps it is a rock star and you want to give him or her the best hair care products. We can chat. I am a cosmetic chemist with close to 30 years of experience in beauty specializing in skin/hair and color cosmetics. I am also the breakthrough beauty award judge for Allure magazine since 2017, Yahoo diversity in beauty award 2018, Beauty packaging award judge 2019, and New Beauty magazine Brain Trust since 2020. I have the credential and skills in creating award-winning products that you can experience or co-create with me. That is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you.
